
David Teten is Founder and Managing Director of Evalueserve Circle of Experts, an independent research firm which provides institutional investors and law firms with direct access to frontline industry experts. David founded the Circle of Experts and sold it to Evalueserve in 2007. He is a frequent keynote speaker to audiences such as the Vistage CEO Community; Euromoney Hedge Fund Start-Up & Business Development Forum; IRC Alternative Investment Summit; MIT Enterprise Forum; Kirkland & Ellis Private Equity Summit; Wharton School; Columbia Business School; Yale; and Princeton. David is the coauthor of The Virtual Handshake: Opening Doors and Closing Deals Online, with Scott Allen. The Virtual Handshake is the first business book about how you can find new clients, new business partners, or even a new job with Web 2.0 technologies. More technically, this is the first business book about “social software”: blogs, social network sites, relationship capital management software, and so on. David runs the Virtual Handshake resource site and blog; writes a corporate blog, Brain Food, and co-writes with Scott Allen a column for FastCompany.com.
David was formerly CEO of Teten Recruiting, an executive recruiting firm specializing in serving the hedge fund, private equity, investment banking, and strategy consulting industries, which is now owned by Accolo. He was also formerly CEO of an investment bank focusing on serving the internet domain name asset class, which he built to 450 customers. He has worked with Bear Stearns' Investment Banking division as a member of their technology/defense mergers and acquisitions team, and was a strategy consultant with Mars & Co. David holds a Harvard MBA and a Yale BA, and lives in New York with his family and two laptops.
