A company I advise is looking for a site developer; does anyone have any ideas?
Primary Job Responsibilities
We are looking for a part-time site developer to help migrate a Joomla and Virtuemart-based Ecommerce site to a new server, and to perform ongoing maintenance and improvement of the site. We will probably require about 20 hours of work initially, and 0-5 hours/month support thereafter. Subsequently, we will need piece work (small additions and developments made to our site within the existing design and database structure) and consultation toward a possible overhaul and redesign (possibly transitioning to a new content management system).
Qualifications and Experience
You must have experience developing websites based on Joomla and VirtueMart as well as extensive experience in PHP and Java. Preferably you’ve worked with the sh404sef search engine extension for Joomla; have experience with Amazon affiliate programs; and have expertise in search engine optimization. You have strong communication and project management skills. You are used to working with artists and other non-linear thinkers, and have some sensitivity to making a website graphically attractive.
Although you can complete this consulting project from anywhere in the world, we have a preference for people in the New York, NY area, as interpersonal communication skills are of the utmost value to us.
Compensation
Probably hourly, although we’re open to a fixed-rate structure.
