In my past role as Founder and former Chair of Harvard Business School Alumni Angels of Greater New York, I co-founded the Venture Capital Access Program (VCAP) as a JV with the National Association of Investment Companies. We helped women and diverse entrepreneurs raise early-stage capital from our members, tapping the Harvard investor community. We invested blind to school affiliation. If anything, we had a bias against the Harvard grads because of ego and opportunity cost issues.
Here is some of the coverage of VCAP:
- Finalist Women and Minority Entrepreneurs Named in VCAP Program
- Helping women and minorities raise angel capital
- HBS Alumni Angels assets for investing in women and minority-led startups
- Venture Capital Access Program launches to aid women and diverse entrepreneurs
